Description
Dihexa (PNB-0408) is a heavily modified molecule built from the peptide angiotensin IV, designed to resist breakdown and to work orally in animal models. We supply it as 10 mg capsules, 30 per bottle, Available analytical documentation is listed in the COA library.

What Dihexa is.
Joseph Harding and Jay Wright’s group at Washington State University developed it while studying why angiotensin IV affected memory in animal models.
They built a shortened, capped analog: an N-hexanoic acid, tyrosine and isoleucine unit joined to 6-aminohexanoic amide. It resists enzymes and crosses the blood-brain barrier in animals. It comes from a peptide, but at about 505 g/mol it is closer in size to a small molecule.

What the research looks at.
Published work, including McCoy and colleagues in the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics in 2013, reports that Dihexa binds HGF and strengthens c-Met receptor signalling. In cell cultures that promoted dendritic spines and new synapses, and rodents with memory impairment performed better. No human efficacy trials have been published.

Documentation.
Available analytical documentation is organized by compound, strength and format in the COA library. Do not treat a report as lot-specific unless a documented lot match is shown.
Handling.
The capsules come pre-measured in a sealed bottle, so there is nothing to reconstitute. Keep the bottle tightly closed somewhere cool and dry, away from heat, humidity and direct light.
Questions.
Is Dihexa a peptide?
It started as one, angiotensin IV, but the changes are so extensive that it now acts like a small molecule.
Why capsules?
Dihexa was found to be orally active in animal models, so capsules suit oral-model designs.
Is Dihexa approved for human use?
No. It is sold for laboratory research only.
