BPC-157 Formats Compared: Vials, Capsules and Liquid Spray

BPC-157 is one of the few research peptides offered as a powder, a capsule and a liquid. That’s not marketing; it follows from how the peptide was first studied. Here is how the three formats compare.

A quick reminder: what BPC-157 is.

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157) is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide, sequence GEPPPGKPADDAGLV. It comes from a larger protein found in human gastric juice. Most of the research on it is preclinical, in rodent and cell models of tendon, ligament, gut and nerve injury.

Why an oral peptide is unusual.

Stomach acid and digestive enzymes break most peptides down within minutes, which is why nearly all peptide research uses dissolved powders. BPC-157 is the exception that drew attention: its parent protein lives in gastric juice, and the early University of Zagreb studies reported that the peptide stayed intact there.

As a result, many of those rodent studies gave BPC-157 in drinking water, particularly in gastrointestinal models: stomach and intestinal lesions, bowel inflammation and fistulas. Some musculoskeletal studies compared oral delivery with other routes in the same models. All of it is animal research.

Which format fits which design.

BPC-157 in blends.

BPC-157 also appears with TB-500 in the BPC-157 + TB-500 vial, capsules and spray, and with GHK-Cu and TB-500 in the GLOW and KLOW blends. See KLOW vs GLOW for those.

Questions.

Is the peptide the same in every format?

Yes. Only the form changes: powder, capsule or solution.

Why does BPC-157 come in capsules when most peptides don’t?

It derives from a gastric protein and was reported to stay stable in stomach conditions, so much of its early research was oral.

What concentration is the spray?

1 mg per mL: 30 mg of BPC-157 in a 30 mL bottle.

Is BPC-157 approved for human use?

No. It is not approved for any use and is sold for laboratory research only.

For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. Nothing in this article is medical advice or guidance on human use.
