Glutathione is the tripeptide γ-glutamyl-cysteinyl-glycine, in its reduced form (GSH). This calculator is preset for our 1,500 mg vial. Enter how much diluent you added and the amount you want to measure out, and it returns the concentration and the volume to transfer, clearly.
Example values only. Replace them with your own. 1 mg = 1,000 mcg.
Pick a round concentration and the calculator returns the diluent volume that gives it.
Share of the vial volume used by one transfer.
Sends this volume to the first tab so you can work out a transfer volume.
Mass per volume.
How much Glutathione sits in common transfer volumes at the concentration above. The table updates as you type.
| Volume | Microlitres | Amount (mcg) | Amount (mg) |
|---|
Glutathione concentration by vial and diluent.
The concentration you get from each of our Glutathione vial sizes at common diluent volumes.
| Vial | 2 mL | 5 mL | 10 mL |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,500 mg | 750 mg/mL 750,000 mcg/mL | 300 mg/mL 300,000 mcg/mL | 150 mg/mL 150,000 mcg/mL |
Worked example. A 1,500 mg Glutathione vial with 5 mL of diluent holds 300 mg/mL, or 300,000 mcg/mL. To measure out 10 mg: 10 mg ÷ 300 mg/mL = 0.0333 mL, which is 33.3 µL. These are arithmetic examples, not suggested amounts.
At 1,500 mg, this vial holds far more material than a typical peptide vial, so the calculator is preset in milligrams and with larger diluent volumes. Check that the vial has room for the volume you choose.
Glutathione by mass and by moles.
Glutathione has a molecular weight of about 307.3 g/mol, so 1 mg holds roughly 3,254.1 nmol. For molar work, multiply any mg/mL figure above by 3,254.1 to get nmol/mL. Since 1 nmol/mL equals 1 µM, that figure is also the molar concentration in µM.
For laboratory research use only. This calculator performs unit and concentration arithmetic for laboratory work. It does not provide, and should not be used for, amounts for human or animal use. Always confirm calculations independently.
Questions.
How much bacteriostatic water do I add to a 1,500 mg Glutathione vial?
There is no single right volume. With 5 mL, a 1,500 mg vial holds 300 mg/mL; with 10 mL it holds 150 mg/mL. Choose the volume that gives transfer volumes you can measure accurately, and that the vial can hold.
How many mcg are in a 1,500 mg Glutathione vial?
1,500,000 mcg. One milligram is 1,000 micrograms.
What is the molecular weight of Glutathione?
About 307.3 g/mol, so 1 mg of Glutathione is roughly 3,254.1 nmol.
Does this calculator tell me how much Glutathione to use?
No. It does unit and concentration arithmetic for laboratory work only. It does not suggest amounts or any form of human or animal use, and our Glutathione is sold for laboratory research only.
